Qualcomm's Snapdragon Metaverse Fund will be used to back developers building XR experiences.

Qualcomm has continued its incursion into the metaverse by establishing a$ 100 million fund that will be used to back inventors and companies erecting extended reality (XR) gests, as well as associated AR and AI technologies.

According to the company, the fund will be delivered through a" combination of adventure investments in leading XR companies"by Qualcomm Gambles and Qualcomm Technologies' entitlement program for inventors creating XR gests in areas similar as gaming, health and heartiness, media, entertainment, education, and enterprise.

In addition to the backing, the company said donors may also have early access to XR platform technology, tackle accoutrements, a network of investors, andco-marketing and creation openings.

"Through the Snapdragon Metaverse Fund, we look forward to empowering inventors and companies of all sizes as they push boundaries of what is possible as we enter into this new generation of spatial computing,"Qualcomm chairman and CEO Cristiano Amon said.

Operations for the Snapdragon Metaverse Fund will officially open in June.

Qualcomm has also blazoned that it's teaming up with Square Enix as part of a Snapdragon Spaces Project to develop head-worn stoked and mixed- reality gaming gests.

The design will see Square Enix's advanced technology division work on the Snapdragon Spaces XR inventor platform.

We've been investing in XR and look forward to erecting on Snapdragon Spaces. In particular, we suppose the time is right with XR to introduce on games of a classic kidney we're especially known for."

Last time, Amon boasted Qualcomm's Snapdragon will be the ticket to the metaverse, noting that the maturity of current metaverse- style bias, similar as Facebook's Oculus Quest, are formerly"powered by Snapdragon".

Amon believes the entire order of XR, including AR and VR, has the implicit to be" bigger than mobile.
